Water... all other nutrients are found through this medium, and we cannot live without it. The human body is 60% water and as late as 32 weeks of gestation, the baby's body is 80% water. Water is something that is greatly taken for granted and is crucial for good physical health, especially if you are elderly or an expectant mother.

We often do not consider the healing power of water and do not realize that many health issues are directly related to drying ourselves out, better known as, "dehydration."

Water is vital to these functions:

Here's a list of some very common chronic health problems associated with dehydration that many people can relate to, including myself:
|
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Adult-onset Diabetes
Arthritis
Asthma
Heartburn
Kidney Stones
Lupus
Migraine
Depression
Colitis
Back Pain
Cataracts
High Blood Pressure
High Cholesterol
Muscular Dystrophy
Multiple Sclerosis
When water is drunk it needs to get where it is going, but it is prevented by coffee and pop. Even though coffee is mainly water
it is a diuretic and will cause the body to excrete more water than it contains. Pop has so much concentrated sugar it will take
water from elsewhere to dilute the sugar and make it less concentrated. Coffee or pop should NOT be counted as part of the
water consumption for a day. A positive change that can effect health very quickly is exchanging soda pop for pure water.
Helps control body temperature Lubricates and cushions joints Keeps the skin healthy Helps remove toxins from the body Helps Circulation Essential for digestion, absorption and elimination

Chlorine and Fluoride are added to municipal water which makes it an unsafe choice for consumption.. Chloride is
added to kill bacteria and that it does because it is a potent disinfectant, and if it can kill the bacteria in the water... What can it
be doing to the human body? It won't discriminate between good and bad bacteria, so the good bacteria the body needs to
fight infections would be lost right along with the bad. Showering or bathing in community water is even more caustic because
it is taken in the body in a much more concentrated form via the skin and the lungs. If you have community water it would
behoove you to install filters on your shower and bath faucets, they are now available
Chlorine was used during WWI as a choking agent in gas form, its used as a bleach in the manufacture of paper and cloth, its
used to make pesticides, rubber, and solvents, kills harmful bacteria in swimming pools, and is used in sanitation processes for
industrial waste. It is a poison, does it make sense to drink it? I think not and I don't because I manage my own health and
chlorinated water is not conducive to good health.
Fluoride is a toxic substance that has been added to water for over 50 years. The first use of fluoride in water was in the Nazi
prison camps. It was used to mass-medicate the water with sodium fluoride to sterilize humans and force the people in their
concentration camps into calm submission. (Ref. Book: "The Crime and Punishment of I.G. Farben" by Joseph Borkin.) Perhaps this is why the
American people are so complacent to the present interior destruction of our once great country... Not to mention the
poisoning and over-dosing of our population via the food and drug industry. This drug is prescribed to an entire nation without
consent and no way of tracking dosage or individual reactions. (Ref. Book "Take Control of Your Health" by Dr. Joseph Mercola) Studies now
prove that fluoride is more effective as a topical rather than ingestion, but yet, the fluoride remains to be force-fed to the
American people. The American Dental Association reversed its position in 2007 on the use of fluoride and advised it not be
given to babies because of adverse effects on bone growth.(Ref. Site www.organicconsumer.org/articles/article_5499.cfm) Why?
How can this happen in a country that is free, "We...the people." More information
I have a Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit installed in my home, not because I have municipal water but because I have a well in an
area that is developed farmland. I recommend a RO system to anyone that is concerned about their health. It is the one filter
that removes everything, including fluoride. The shower head and bath faucet should be filtered as well because the chlorine
is at a greater concentrate from the vapor.
Is there a "right" way to drink water and how do I know how much to drink?
Water should not be drunk with or just after meals because it can dilute digestive juices that aid in the digestive process and
hinder nutrient absorption. It is also important to drink water to avoid constipation and to hydrate the skin. Healthy skin needs
moisture, just as a plant wilts when dehydrated, so does the skin.
Typically its recommended to drink half your weight in ounces (120/2= 60 oz.), but this is where managing your own health and
listening to your body helps. The color of your urine is a pretty good indicator, it should be a very pale yellow, unless you are
supplementing with vitamin B2 (riboflavin), which will turn urine a bright yellow. Also, the liver can only process about 4 ounces
of water every 30 minutes so if more is drunk it will be flushed out by the kidney's and be of no value to the body. Drinking
water systematically is the best. Drink about 4 ounces every 30 minutes through out the day, starting upon rising in the
morning. I have a wrist heart monitor that has a timer so I set it for 30 minutes, a great reminder. Of course this doesn't
happen daily because life does get in the way at times but I do try to make a conscious effort on regular basis to give my body
one of the first lines of defense, good, pure water, because:
Proper water drinking facilitates the removal of worn-out cells.
Proper water drinking restores the hydration needed for mineral absorption.
Proper water drinking removes the salts and excess urea (nitrate and ammonia) that can lead to heart attacks.
Proper water drinking sets the stage for efficient digestion of your foods.
I have glass water bottles (25 oz.) that I use. I purchased them from Aquasana, it is the only place I found a glass bottle
suitable for portability. If you know of another source please contact me and I will post the source. I keep a bottle by my bed
for drinking at night, one on my desk. I also have one in my bathroom for rinsing when I brush my teeth so I don't have to drink
the tap water. If it is available I will drink more than if it is not. It is a system I developed to help me drink the daily water I need
to manage my own health. I have the RO water system installed and refill my bottles as needed. It is also environment friendly
because I'm not contributing to the over-abundance of plastics at the landfills. Bottled water is not regulated and even if it
were I'm not sure I would trust it. The only way to be certain of your water quality would be to install a RO system or purchase
a steam water distiller for your own home. It is a small amount to invest in managing your own health.
